Maybe it’s the time we spent peering over our parents’ shoulders as kids, watching them cook or write or build; maybe it goes back into our very DNA, to the American spirit of seeing something done and saying “Hey, I can do that.” But for whatever reason, we at RYE & RIVET love a process. We love making our food from scratch, then going further and helping to create the ingredients. We love personalizing our leather goods, then going back and learning how to make them. DIY is never DIY enough for us. Which is why we love the interactive portion of The Macallan’s site– the simple yet folksy narration of the every step that goes into the production of their single-malt scotch is fascinating to watch. And with a variety of compelling products (American oak-aged and seasoned with bourbon, Spanish oak-aged and seasoned with sherry…) and some downright drool-worthy collaborations also housed on the site, you’ll be extra glad you went. The Macalland may have created a monster by telling us the process, but in the meantime we’ll let the pros handle it. Get it here.
