Menswear, accessories & cocktails for those who care enough to look. Welcome to RYE & RIVET.
Two things you should know about us: we love puns, and we love rye. So when we came across this clever drink recipe, we couldn’t resist sharing it with you (especially since it comes from the folks at Chicago’s first boutique distillery, Koval).
1 tsp. honey
1 Tbsp. sugar
4 medium basil leaves
½ tsp. pure vanilla extract (we’re obsessed with J.R. Watkins’ Double-Strength Madagascar Vanilla)
1 ½ oz. Lion’s Pride Rye
½ oz. Chrysanthemum Honey Liqueur
1 oz. ginger ale
A bit of lemon zest
1/3 vanilla bean
Muddle sugar, honey, basil, and vanilla extract in the bottom of a glass to form a paste. Pour rye and Chrysanthemum Honey directly onto paste to dissolve remaining sugar. Add ice and top with ginger ale. Garnish with vanilla bean and lemon zest.
It sounds to us like the perfect combination of sweetness and unexpected basil flavoring… ideal for transitioning from summer to fall (wishful thinking). Have a favorite recipe to share? Hit us up here.
