We would never claim to be a food blog, but there’s something about our way of looking at things that translates nicely into the edible pursuits– an emphasis on quality ingredients, time-honored processes, and attention to detail. Oh, and we have a very mild obsession with bacon. That’s why we felt so lucky to stumble upon TRAIF, a restaurant that specializes in all things pork-based, on a recent jaunt to Brooklyn. Our favorite fix was the (wait for it) bacon donuts– a little misleadingly named, these were actually deliciously fluffy donut holes topped with sweet, smokey bacon crumbles and a dulce de leche syrup. Served with coffee ice cream, the pairings were thought-provoking and original. So, though we won’t be weighing down RYE & RIVET with too much bacon-usage analysis… this just seemed to interesting to keep to ourselves. Get acquainted here.
